Organic and Non–Organic Food

Organic food is grown on farms (just like regular food!), but the farmers do not use ‘bug- killing’ sprays called pesticides on the fruits and vegetables as they are growing. This means that these fruits and vegetables grow with the help of one thing and one thing only: Mother Nature.

Non-organic food is sprayed with “bug-killing” sprays called pesticides. Even if pesticides are used, all the food is still safe to eat, just like organic foods.

* Because all food is grown outside, it has dirt and other germs on it. Just like we wash our hands before we eat, we also need to wash our fruits and vegetables before we eat them.
